The Music Man

The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold HIll as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boy's band he vows to organize. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian. The Uptown Theater story...
The Uptown Theater originally opened in 1950 as a movie theater with 1100 seats and a small stage for live performances.
The City of Grand Prairie will restore the historic downtown landmark to its former glory, but with enhancements that allow for performing and visual arts.
The Uptown Theater will become the pride and joy of downtown Grand Prairie, a true multi-use facility for the community and its visitors to enjoy
